For my color works final I decided to create mastercopies and illustrations that referenced/responded to previous masters. I really learned so much by using color palettes from other painters. This one was specifically in reference to Waterhouse’s Magic Circle (which is a really SUCH a gorgeous painting). Not alot is changed from this one besides the figures and some of the objects. The composition and palette is pretty much the same with some subtle shifts.
Also these paintings reference New Works/World Traditions’ movements (TOPIKAL HEAT YALL) and exploring narrative elements from “The Famished Road” by Ben Okri (and concepts such as rituals, sacred spaces, journeys, and pilgrimages). So it starts to hiiiiinttt as some of the work I might be doing for my degree project in the spring! :]
